Weekend Review
Our weekend consisted of PUZZLES and LEGOS!
The boys are really into legos. They have started collecting "Lego City". They are trying to earn the huge police station and the fire station. (Oh my, legos are expensive!!). Right now they have the police helicopter, police car, and the fire truck. Emma also has the pink set of legos, and she loves them just as much.
However, Emma is all about puzzles. She LOVES them and can do them all by herself (24 pieces)!

Weekly Review #1- Color Week
Our first week had its bumps along the way, but overall we had a great first week. We didn't through as much as I had hoped, but the kids really enjoyed the week.
Writing- Cooper and Emma practiced drawing straight lines and their names. Cooper did some copy work with Carson. (They both pick out a book and practice writing words they find in the book). Cooper gets very frustrated if he writes a letter wrong, poor guy. I keep telling him it just takes practice. Carson is doing really great writing and just loves to copy words. At school this week, Carson practiced writing 1, 2, A, a, B, and b. Emma is trying, but mainly writes circles. Although, she is writing her "E"'s really well.
Art- We do our daily art/craft project in the afternoon so Carson can join us. They love doing this and look forward to it everyday.
Games- color treasure hunts, puzzles, abc cards
We didn't start our bible study this week, but I hope to get it started next week.

Our Routine
I set my alarm for 6:30. Carson is usually in my bed right before it goes off. He plays on the phone while I take a shower. Slowly, Cooper wanders into the bed. If Daddy is home, he plays with Daddy's phone. All that noise eventually wakes Emma up. She climbs into bed to watch them play or begs at the shower to get in.
The boys get dressed for school, although Carson won't put his shirt on until the very last minute. At 7:00 we get Parker up. Carson eats breakfast, plays on the computer, or plays Legos. Cooper and Emma cuddle on the couch and watch a cartoon.
We are out the door at 7:30. We drop Carson off at 7:45 and we are back home around 8:00.
Emma & Cooper do puzzles, play, or watch cartoons until Parker naps at 9:30 and then we start our school day. We do our school for an hour, or until they are distracted. Parker is up at 10:30. We pick up a little and then we are out the door at 11:00 to pick Carson up.
11:20 we pick Carson up. We head home and I make lunch. 12:30 the kids play until Parker goes down for a nap at 1:30. Then, we do our art project for the day. Carson usually practices his writing, Cooper colors and Emma does puzzles.
3:30 Parker is up. We hang out and play. By 4:00 they are asking if it is dinner yet. I start cooking. We eat around 4:45. If Daddy is home, he cleans up dinner while the kids get their bath or shower.
7:00 Parker goes to bed. The kids have their treat. At 7:30 the boys head into their room to play, read books, or play on the phone. Emma hangs out with us. Lights out at 8:30.

Our 1st Morning
Our Preshoolers 1st Day
Emma, our little Preschool Princess, age 3.
Cooper, our little Pre-K Monkey, age 4.
They both wanted first day pictures like Carson did. They even went outside, with their backpacks, and walked into their "school". Last night they picked out their outfits and laid them out, just like big brother Carson.

He's a Kindergartener!
Carson had his first day of school today. He is in the AM Kindergarten. His teacher is Mrs. Cuthbertson, or Mrs. C. He loved school today!
"I colored a picture for Grandpa"
"I raised my hand to talk when my teacher was talking"
"I told everyone I was 5"
"I rode the bike, and when my teacher said freeze, I freezed"
"I was good, one kid was bad and he was moved to the red section. He was being bad"
"I didn't eat the snack, it was salad, and I don't like that"
"I had fun"

Another Weekend
Another weekend has passed. It is still way too HOT here! The kids never get to play outside. We spent the last couple of days coloring. We found a ton of cool coloring books in the dollar section at Micheal's. The boys favorites are Transformers and Marvel Superheroes. Emma loves her My Little Pony ones. They have stayed pretty occupied with those. Parker is still scooting everywhere, but he is fast. We are trying to switch from a bottle to a cup, but not with much success yet.
Anyway, the next couple of days we will be getting ready for school to start. We have Back to School night on Tuesday. Then, Carson will start on Thursday!!
Check back for a lot more pictures this week!

Goals for the New School Year
Our Goals for this School Year
Bible Studies
- Basic knowledge of Bible stories with the ability to retell story
- Basic knowledge of sin, forgiveness, and Jesus' sacrifice
- Memorization of some simple Scriptures
- Praying and understanding the reason for prayer
Language Arts
- Learn to write ABC's
- Be able to identify ABC's
- Reading by the end of the year
Math
- Counting to 100
- Simple Addition
- Ability to tell time
- Counting money
Geography/History
- Learn basic map skills
- Identify continents and oceans
Science
- Basic knowledge of animal classification
Carson will be at school for 3 hours a day. While he is gone, I will be working with Cooper and Emma. Carson will join us for some activities. Although they are all different ages, I think they will all get something out of what we are learning about. Overall, I would say our main goals are to learn more about the Bible and learning to read.
