Tokyo | Weekend in Japan

The final stop of the weekend was Tokyo. Tokyo is a huge city. It takes so much time to get from one side to another. I did not love Tokyo. To me, it was just another big city. I did get to see some cool things though and I definitely figured out the complex subway and train system.

Kyoto | Weekend in Japan

Kyoto was by far one of the most amazing cities I have ever visited. There are 1,000's of shrines and temples. The city is beautiful and there is so much to see. I could have spent 2 weeks in Kyoto and still not have seen half of the city. I was able to see the Fushimi-Inari Shrine, the Tofuku-ji Temple, the  Higashi-honganji Temple, the Toyokuni Shrine, Kinkaku-ji Temple and several smaller neighborhood shrines.

Osaka | Weekend in Japan

In May I went up to mainland Japan for 3 nights of exploring. Josh stayed home with the kids. I visited Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo. I wish I could have stayed up there longer but I am so happy I had the opportunity! I got into Osaka late in the afternoon. There wasn't much time to explore but I did make it to the Osaka Castle. It was so pretty lit up at night!
