Day 118 of 365

Today Carson stayed home from school with a cold. He probably could have gone, but I said he could stay home and rest. Cooper still wasn't feeling better either. So the boys played the wii a little, watched some movies, and looked at DS and Wii games on the laptop. Emma played in her Belle dress all day. Parker was a crazy man, as always. Josh worked out and cleaned the bathrooms. Tomorrow will be better, it just has to be! My Dad goes in for some very important testing on his thyroid. Please pray it isn't cancer!!!! Love you Dad!

Day 117 of 365

Today Cooper was still sick with a fever and sore throat. He spent the day watching movies and sleeping. It was a rainy day, so everyone had to stay inside. Josh wasn't feeling good tonight so he went to bed early. I don't feel great either. Hopefully tomorrow is a better day!

Day 115 of 365

Today we our usual Sunday breakfast. Josh was up early and had everything before we all woke up. The kids helped Josh do some yardwork. They love pulling weeds. We made a big dinner, homemade breadsticks, spaghetti, and molten chocolate cupcakes. After bathtime we played Legos for a long time. Everyone was asleep pretty early.

Day 114 of 365

Today Joshua came home. He walked through the front door and the kids were shocked!!!! They didn't know what to say. Carson and Cooper almost started crying. They were so EXCITED!!! We had a nice BBQ outside, went for a walk, and watched a little bit of Life together. We are all so happy he is home and our family is all back together!!!

Day 113 of 365

Today Nicole watched the kids while I can to Target to get a few things. I picked Carson and Cameron up in Josh's car, or as they call it the "cool" car. We spent the afternoon playing Legos. Cooper's letter about Kindergarten came. They placed in PM Kindergarten at a different school than Carson. Ummm, how am I supposed to pick up 2 kids at the same time at 2 different schools??? I will have to go talk to them about that. Before bed we went on a walk with Cameron and Nicole then stopped by their house for a little bit. Its our last night alone. Josh will be here tomorrow!!!

Only . . . .

24 more hours before Joshua will be home!!!

Day 112 of 365

Today was Earth Day. I have to say, we didn't do much to save the Earth. But, we did make tree shaped french toast for lunch, a caterpillar cake for treat and watched an episode of Life. Our caterpillar cake and cupcakes turned out so yummy. They were Snickerdoodle. The recipe was from the book, "Cake Doctor". Oh my, they were good. So good in fact Carson ate 2! If he likes them, then you know they are good. Cameron spent the afternoon at our house. The kids played Batman and played Legos. It was a long day, but everyone had fun. Right now Josh is on his way home! Too bad its going to take another day and half for him to get here!

Snickerdoodle Cupcakes

I finally used my William & Sonoma caterpillar cake pan. So cute!
We made Snickerdoodle cupcakes with Snickerdoodle frosting. So yummy, tasted just like the cookie. Carson even ate them, so you know they must be good!
All the kids helped decorate a section of the caterpillar. What a mess but they had fun!
Cameron spent the afternoon at our house. They played Batman. Cooper was Two Face, Carson was the Joker, Cameron was the strong man, and Emma was Poison Ivy.

A Conversation with Cooper

Cooper: Mom, can I watch "Batman and Robin" the one with Poison Ivy?

Mom: Yeah, let me find it.

Cooper: Mom, do you know why I like Poison Ivy?

Mom: No, why?

Cooper: Because she is pretty.

Mom: Really

Cooper: Yeah, she is so pretty!

Mom: What about Princess Tiana? Who do you like more?

Cooper: They are both pretty. I love them both. Mom, Can I have 2 girlfriends?

(Oh no, we are in trouble!)

Day 111 of 365

Today was an exciting day. Josh got all his flight information. He will be home on Saturday at 12:45 pm! The kids are going to be so surprised. Today we picked up the vacuum. $150 later, we are back in business. The kids were pretty tired this afternoon so we just hung out. We watched Disney's "Earth" which they enjoyed but not as much as "Life". They played Batman & Robin. The boys were asleep by 7:20! Of course, little Miss Emma was up until 9:00.

Day 110 of 365

Today was a stormy, rainy day. It rained really hard in the morning. In the afternoon there was a little break. So, we went for a walk. I was able to get some great pictures, some of my most favorite ever. The kids had a great time throwing rocks in the puddles and little ponds. After dinner the kids played "Batman" and then it started to hail. We had some pretty big thunderstorms. The kids of course had to go play in the hail.

A Conversation with Carson

Mom: Hey Carson, can you go grab me a few more diapers?

Carson: Ok, hey Mom, how many diapers have you changed?

Mom: I have been changing diapers for over 6 years straight, so thousands.

Carson: How many diapers has Dad changed?

Mom: Some Carson: When I am married, my wife won't have to change any. I will change all the diapers. My wife can cook and take pictures and scrapbook. I will be the best husband.

Mom: That is very nice. You are going to make a wonderful husband someday!

A Conversation with Cooper

Cooper: Hey Mom, Mommmmm, oh Mom

Mom: Yeah Cooper

Cooper: Mom, why are the Joker and Two Face always trying to kill Batman?

Mom: I think they are just really cranky people and not very nice.

Cooper: Why are they cranky?

Mom: I don't know, maybe because they don't eat their veggies.

Cooper: Oh, that makes sense. That is why Carson is always cranky. He doesn't eat his veggies. I eat my veggies and I'm not cranky.

Mom: Is that right? Interesting idea buddy.

Cooper: Yeah, I think Carson is good friends with the Joker and Two Face.

Day 109 of 365

Today was the first day Carson was brave enough to wear shorts to school. Its still a little cold in the morning, but it was 75 today. He looked so handsome in his new big boy plaid shorts with a belt of course. We had to drop the vacuum off at the repair store. It won't turn on. Major bummer! I cannot survive without a vacuum. Those 4 kids manage to get crumbs everywhere, even when they sit at the counter. Hopefully it won't be too much to fix. This afternoon we made homemade pizza. The kids loved helping make the dough. We all had so much fun! Then we made brownies and watched the last episode of "Life". The kids all colored together very nicely before bed.

Day 108 of 365

Today was 80, the warmest day of the year so far. Of course we had to stay inside but not because of Carson's allergies, but the bees! They are everywhere because all the flowers have bloomed. We had a yummy dinner. After baths and showers we all watched the last 2 episodes of Life. I can't wait until that comes out on DVD. All 4 loved every episode!

Day 107 of 365

Today we spent the day inside, even though it was 75. Carson's allergies are pretty bad right now. The boys played the wii and colored. They played Indiana Jones and Batman. Emma and Parker helped me make Strawberry Cupcakes! Oh so yummy! Of course Carson wouldn't try them. Oh well, his loss. Tonight's movie night choice was "Twister". The boys loved it! Today we also found out Josh will be coming home early from Bahrain. A 6 week deployment instead of 6 months. We don't know what day yet, but sometime soon. We are not going to tell the kids, so it will be a huge surprise for them!

Day 106 of 365

Today was pizza day. We had it for lunch instead of dinner. The kids rode bikes outside for a few minutes, but Carson's allergies got too bad. We all decided to get grocery shopping over. All 4 kids were so good at the store! Even with a few extra treats thrown in the basket, we saved $125! Everyone is looking forward to a relaxing weekend.

Day 105 of 365

Today we colored and played Indiana Jones. The kids tried to play outside but the bees were out. I have done my job teaching them about bees, almost too much teaching. They are TERRIFIED of bees and completely freak out when they see one, hear one, or even the mention there might be a bee around. All 3 big kids become hysterical, crying, screaming, the whole thing. You would think someone's arm got cut off.

Day 104 of 365

Today was another Indiana Jones day. They used my stamps to make plane and train tickets. They played for a few hours. We ran to the store to pick up some baggies for Carson's snack day tomorrow. Everyone sat at the table while Carson did his homework, pretending to do their homework also.

Day 103 of 365

Today we had a lot of fun. After school the kids played Indiana Jones while I made lunch. This time Emma was the only one that could scare the snakes away. We spent the afternoon playing Indiana Jones, watching Sophia's puppies on the webcam, and coloring. When Parker got up we made homemade breadsticks. Everyone got a turn kneading the dough. They all helped make BBQ chicken & noodles and caramelized pineapple. It ended up being a beautiful evening so we ate dinner outside. After we picked up dinner everyone had a bath or shower. The kids played Indiana Jones while Parker and I made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. After treat the boys played babies with Emma and then everyone went to bed. Well, almost everyone. Emma is still up but hopefully she will be out in a minute!

Day 102 of 365

Today was another day of pouring rain. We colored and the boys played Indiana Jones. This time Carson was Dr. Jones and insisted on only being called by that name. Cooper was Dr. Jones' Dad and only answered to that name. They wore their hats and had their books full of clues to the treasure. Cooper had a bad tummy ache after dinner so we all watched another episode of Life followed by Minute to Win It. Cooper was feeling much better by bedtime!

Day 101 of 365

Today we had our donuts and coffee. We all looked through the paper. It was rainy and windy all day. Parker finally said his first word, "bye". He ran around the house waving and yelling bye to everyone, all day long. So cute! We watched Life, which they continue to love. Before bed the boys played Indiana Jones. They ran around the house looking for treasure. The weekend seemed to go by so fast!

Day 100 of 365

Today we made chocolate chip muffins for breakfast. It was the first donut day we missed since Josh left. We spent the day just hanging out. We ran to the store in the afternoon to get a few things. Nothing too exciting.

Day 99 of 365

Today was finally Friday. Carson had a great day at school. After dinner we went outside for no more than 5 minutes when Carson's eyes started itching really bad. They got so swollen. There are many things in bloom right now. He has never had allergy problems before, but something was bothering his eyes. He looked like someone punched him. We decided on Movie Night. We made chocolate chip cookie brownies. They loved them. We watched Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull.

Day 98 of 365

Today Emma woke up a little out of it. Not really sick, but not normal. She had a pretty quiet day, which is not normal by any means. We watched Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. The boys liked it just as much as the other 2 movies. We played outside but it didn't last long. The kids thought it was too hot out. It was only 71, what is going to happen when its in the 90's and 100's. We played with Photo Booth before bed and made some really silly videos. Parker turned 20 months old today. I can't believe he is getting so big. Not really a baby anymore.
