Day 150 of 365

Today Carson woke up feeling a little bit better but that didn't last long. He had a headache, cough and fever. He spent the day sleeping and watching movies in our bed. Today was 87, too hot to play outside anyways. We spent the day relaxing and just hanging out. Josh and I are going bowling tonight once the kids are asleep . . . on the Wii of course.

Day 149 of 365

Today we headed out early to run a few errands. We bought everything for Emma's ballet class- black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers. We bought Carson a peewee sized football and Cooper shin guards. They are set. Carson started not feeling well so we came home. He took a 3 hour nap. I went grocery shopping. Carson spent the afternoon watching movies and sleeping. The other kids played legos. We had big plans to go out and do something but not now that Carson is sick.

Day 148 of 365

Today was Carson's last full Friday of Kindergarten. After Josh picked up Carson he took Cooper out for a special lunch at Red Robin. Cooper loved having special Daddy time. After lunch he took Emma to the mall for her special time. They got me the coolest cookbook holder from William & Sonoma. Emma had fun with Daddy, especially since she got to go in Daddy's car. Today Josh woke up early, ran 4 miles, then worked out for 2 hours, then ran 6 miles in the afternoon. He is crazy but he looks amazing!!! The kids had pizza for dinner and then watched Princess & the Bride.

Day 147 of 365

Today was a rainy, thunderstormy day. Josh got home from work around 6am and slept till 10:30, he is crazy. I don't know why he didn't sleep longer. After school the kids played legos and the wii. Everyone wanted to play outside but the weather was not cooperating. We had yummy french toast with fresh strawberry blackberry syrup. Josh cleaned the house while the kids and I played legos. Luckily Josh was on stand-by so he didn't have to go into work tonight. Our long weekend has started!

Day 146 of 365

Today Carson had his egg drop at school. The kids and I went to watch. Carson's egg survived. Josh's plan worked. The kids spent the afternoon playing with the box of costumes, playing legos, and the wii. After dinner Josh took Carson to get signed up for football. Carson was so excited! Josh has to work another mid tonight, luckily his last of the week.

Day 145 of 365

Today Josh made it home by 6:20 am and crashed. I tried keeping the kids quiet, but as you can imagine that is a difficult task. The kids played dress up with all the old costumes. They had a great time running around. We made a yummy dinner- baked chicken nuggets and veggie chow mein noodle (my own recipe). The kids were all pretty tired so they went to bed pretty early. I got Emma all signed up for Ballet. She will start June 5th. Now I just need to find a black leotard, pink tights, and ballet slippers.

Day 144 of 365

Today marked the 2 week countdown until Carson's last day of Kindergarten. It has gone by so fast! The kids played Legos most of the day. We watched Minute to win it. We have been trying to figure out what we are going to do to stay bust this summer. Emma is going to do ballet and maybe tap. Cooper is going to do the soccer camp and probably 1 other thing. Carson is going to do football- real, big boy, serious football and maybe the soccer camp. With all three wanting to do some activities you can't imagine how fast that adds up $$$! Anyway, we hope to get everything registered this week. Josh is working mids this week (10pm-6am) so no fun there!

Day 143 of 365

Today the kids had their usual special donuts for breakfast. Josh worked out and then I went to the grocery store. We spent the day hanging out doing nothing too exciting. We had a yummy dinner- BBQ hamburgers, Mediterranean Salad (new recipe from Giada de Laurentis HERE, it was very yummy, will make again!) and fruit salad. After showers we all sat down to play a game of bowling on the Wii. The boys played bowling all day. They loved it and were really good. But of course Dad won. Lots of family fun!

Day 142 of 365

Today was Grandma Michele's last day here. Before she had to leave at 11, she made breakfast, cleaned up, packed, rode bikes outside with the kids and played kick ball. All the kids had a great week with her. It was so nice having extra help this week!!! Josh and I were able to go out by ourselves which was so fun. Thank you Grandma Michele!!

Day 141 of 365

Today was Josh's big day, bonus day! I can't believe it has already been a year since he reenlisted. After school we all went to Boudin for lunch. Then we headed off to Best Buy- Carson's big day, Nintendo DS day. Josh and I got it for him for his Kindergarten graduation coming up. He has waited patiently to get it. He was so excited!! Then we all walked over to the bookstore and Grandma Michele got each kid a special book. Emma- princess collection book, Cooper- shark book, Carson- Mummy book, and Parker a puppy book. Then we headed home. Us 3 girls went grocery shopping. Michele made a yummy cheesecake and yummy chicken parmesan for dinner. The kids and Grandma watched "The Tooth Fairy". After the kids went to bed we watched "Valentine's Day". It was a cute movie.

Day 140 of 365

Today was another fun day. After school we took a picnic to the park. The kids had so much fun running around and going down the slides. After the park I took Parker home for his nap. Josh, Grandma Michele, and the big kids walked to get haircuts and ice cream. Josh and I were able to go out on a date. It was so nice having some time together, just us.

Day 139 of 365

Today was great. Grandma Michele made chocolate chip muffins for breakfast for the kids and yummy coffee cake for the big people. After school Carson was pretty tired because of his cold. So after lunch the kids finished Avatar with Grandma. Josh and I went to Barnes & Noble and the mall. The kids had a dance party with Grandma and had a great afternoon with her. It is so nice having visitors! I hate living so far away from everyone.

Day 138 of 365

Today Carson stayed home from school with a cold. He probably could have gone but instead he stayed home and rested. The kids spent the day playing Legos and watching Tom & Jerry. This afternoon Grandma Michele arrived and will be staying with us the rest of the week!! The kids were so excited when she got here! We BBQ for dinner and watched a basketball game. When most the kids were in bed Josh and I went out to the mall. It was so nice going out together, just us! Hopefully Carson's cold doesn't get worse so we can have a great week with Grandma!

Day 137 of 365

Today everyone was tired. Yesterday was a long day but well worth it. I spent the morning folding a huge laundry pile. After school the kids watched a little bit of Iron Man. We watched Cameron all day so the kids had fun playing. Carson has a sore throat- lets hope it doesn't get worse! Tomorrow Grandma Michele comes to visit until Saturday. Nobody can get sick!

Day 136 of 365

Today we went to San Francisco. We left the house at 8 and made it there at 9:45. First we stopped by the Giants store at AT&T Park so Josh could get a few things. Then we headed to the zoo. It wasn't busy at all, so that was nice. They had a baby gorilla. He was so little and cute and full of energy. The kids had fun at the zoo, although Cooper was cold- something that would last the whole day. After the zoo we headed to Pier 39 and Boudin bread company for lunch. We ate then walked to Ghiradelli for chocolate, cupcakes, and running in the grass. The kids loved running up and down the hill, even doing somersaults and rolling. After that we picked up Grandma Michele at her hotel, went to Hard Rock Cafe for dinner, then walked around Pier 39 for a little bit. Finally, it was getting late. Before dropping Grandma off we went down Lombard St- the curviest road in the world. The kids had so much fun and I think Grandma Michele did too! We got home at 9:00, carried the kids in bed, emptied the car, and passed out. It was a great day in San Francisco- a place Josh would LOVE to live, of course after we win the lottery!

Josh's 10K- Run with Nature

Day 135 of 365

Today Josh ran in a 10K race, "Run with Nature" out by Folsom Lake. We got up early, stopped by the store for muffins, mini donuts, and bananas, and headed out to the race. The kids had a great time cheering for everyone as they crossed the finish line. They were so excited waiting for Daddy to come around the corner! Josh finished in 47:39! He wanted to get 48 minutes so he was very happy that he did better than he expected. It was a fun morning. We were all so proud of him! After the race we stopped by Toys R Us, something we haven't done in a long time. Carson picked out some Iron Man guys. Cooper got an Animal Planet shark set. Emma got her Princess vacuum and Parker got some Mickey Mouse cars. We spent the rest of the afternoon hanging out. We BBQ and then started Avatar. We still need to finish the movie, but tomorrow we are going to San Francisco, so the kids needed to get a good night's sleep!

Day 134 of 365

Today was another hot day. After school the kids tried playing outside but they got too hot. We had our usual pizza dinner. I filled the pool up for the kids and they played after dinner. However, Josh had to refill the pool due to Mr. Parker and his lack of a diaper! They played until 6:30. Then they watched Tom & Jerry in our bed for a little bit. Cooper and Carson fell asleep in our bed. We are all looking forward to a great weekend!

Day 133 of 365

Today was 85! It was hot. The kids and I spent the afternoon outside. We bought a new air pump and the pool was ready in 5 minutes. Carson loved jumping in and pretending to swim. Cooper was more reserved. It took him awhile to get really wet. Emma loved it. She dumped water from one bucket to the other over and over again. Parker had fun. He loves the water but didn't like it when the kids splashed. It was a very hot afternoon but they all had a great day!! It is definitely summer here!

Summer is HERE!!!

Day 132 of 365

Today was warm and sunny. It was definitely time to get a pool. Unfortunately, we didn't have the right type of pump and Josh had to go to work. 2 hours later I was able to get it half blown with a bike pump (no attachment on it). It kept the water in. The kids didn't mind. They still had a great time, especially since Cameron came over to play. We made a yummy snickerdoodle cake and watched old cartoons before bed. The kids were pretty tired after playing outside in the pool for 2 hours.

Day 131 of 365

Today Carson had a field trip to the Sacramento Zoo. He even got to pack a lunch to eat at the zoo. He had a great time with his friends and all the moms that helped out. The kids played outside most the afternoon. They pretended to be getting married, Emma was Abbie and Cooper married her and Carson. Then they opened iPhoto and watched detailed descriptions about each wedding picture of Josh and I. All 3 big kids were so interested. They are always talking about getting married. Too funny! We had cinnamon sugar toast for treat and it was a hit. They loved it!

Day 130 of 365

Today was Monday. Carson was very excited to go back to school . . . to see Abbie of course. Emma and Parker played with the Geotrax set. Cooper played the Wii and Legos. After lunch the boys watched "Honey I Blew up the Kid". It was rainy and stormy all day, so no outside time. After dinner we made some sugar cookies and watched Minute to Win It. Josh is working swings this week so I had to watch TV by myself tonight. I hate being home by myself at night, no fun!

Day 129 of 365

Today was Mother's Day. For breakfast we had yummy french toast. Josh got me a coffee and a newspaper. After breakfast the kids helped Josh wrap my presents and then we opened them. They got me my scrapbook magazine, a new brush, some new tank tops and flip flops, a very cute apron and a movie. Thank you guys! Carson made me a recipe holder at school and a really card. The kids played Legos all day. Josh cleaned the bathrooms and Emma's room for me. Emma's room, oh my, that was a big job. Thankfully, I didn't have to do it! It was a nice relaxing day with the family!
