Carson's Cartwheel Practice

Carson loves trying to do cartwheels. They are getting much better. He just needs to work on the landing. He would do cartwheels in the house if I let him. The beach is the perfect place to practice.

Of course you need to pause a minute to show off your muscles.

Most cartwheels end this way. He gets right back up and tries again!

The Cherry Bikini That Still Fits

Emma has been wearing this cherry bikini since she was 3 years old. It is her favorite. She is determined to keep wearing it. However, it is becoming a very teeny tiny bikini on top. Hopefully she can make it through this summer.

Cooper's 1st Grade Play

Cooper has worked very hard the past couple of weeks getting ready for his school program. The program was about famous Americans with a Disney twist. The songs they all sang were Disney songs. It was a cute program and Cooper was in the very front. (Josh and I would never say this to him but this school program was the most random program. The song choices were all over the place. It was pretty funny)

Here are 3 videos of the songs he sang. Pretty funny stuff. He looked so cute though, and shy.

9:52 Scrapbook Thursdays

Life has been pretty busy around here. The last couple of weeks I have gotten just a few pages completed. These pages are all from our August 2010 trip to Portland. Josh left today for almost a month. I will now have plenty of free time once the kids are in bed. I am hoping to get a lot done the next few weeks!

1st Visit to Shuri Castle

Finally we had a family day. We decided to go visit the Shuri Castle. The Shuri Castle is the most restored castle on the island. It really is beautiful. More info about the castle can be found HERE. The castle park is huge. We only spent time at the main castle but there is so much more to see and explore.

There are so many different gates leading up the hill to the main castle. The kids loved them and wanted to stop at each one.

These two stopped long enough for me to get a picture with them. The other 2 were running around having too much fun.

This is the main castle. We were able to take a tour through the inside, of course without shoes. We saw the gold throne, the king's crown and more cool things. Photography was prohibited in most parts of the inside. It was really beautiful and cool to see where the kings and their family lived.

We had such a wonderful time all together. Too bad spring break is almost over. We have had a great week, just wish Daddy could have joined us for more exploring!

A Little Fun at the Beach Before the Rain Comes

After walking around Shuri Castle everyone was hot and ready for the beach. We went to Nishihara Beach and played for an hour or so.

Carson spent his time relaxing in the water, followed by perfecting his jumps.

Parker has continued his beach tradition, pretending to be sleeping while he waits for a wave.

Emma played in the sand most of the time, of course. Cooper did make it into a pictures. I couldn't get him to stop long enough. They all just love being at the beach!

Spring Break Day #3- Urasoe Park Playground

Today's adventure led us south to Urasoe Park and their great playground. This was our first time visiting. We met the girls and Emma at the park. Diana and I both got lost trying to find it and each other, long story, but lots of laughs. It was really humid and cloudy. Luckily, we beat the rain and the kids were able to play for awhile. They just loved the rollerslide at this park. It was a pretty long one and really fast, even without cardboard. Carson made a short little video going down the rollerslide.

Parker was a little scared of most the big playground. He is not very brave. But there was plenty of things for him to play on. He just loved it.

Before the rain came we walked up the stairs to the observatory. Lots of steps later we reached the top. It was an amazing view. I just wish it had been a clear day. By the time we finished walking the kids were done. They were hot and sweaty. We got ice cream out of the vending machine, ate it, then headed home.

There is so much more to explore at this park, including some castle ruins. We will have to head back another day!
