Today was another busy day. Day 4 started after lunch. The movie we watched today was "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory." Carson and Cooper were a little upset we didn't watch the Johnny Depp version, but to me, the classic version is the only way to go. Parker really loved the movie. He sat with me and helped get our candy ready for our Graham Cracker Candy Houses. I saved a lot of our Halloween candy to use for decorations. After the moving I put together the houses. Because of the humidity here, graham crackers get mushy pretty fast. I was a little worried they wouldn't hold up, but so far so good. When we returned from AWANA's we ate dinner and then decorated our candy houses.
The kids had so much fun. They each had a clear plan for decorating their houses. Carson really wanted to make sure he had the best door and wreath. Cooper really wanted his to look like a person with a face and arms. Emma wanted her to be the prettiest and Parker wanted his to have the most candy. They all turned out so cute!
I told the kids not to eat any of the decorating candy because we would have a treat after. I was very impressed they all listened. For treat tonight I made some Sour Gummy Christmas Tree Kabobs. The kids thought these were so cool. I hate sour candy but they all loved it!
After getting everything ready for bed and for school the next day we sat down by the tree for story time. Tonight was Carson's turn to open the book. We read, "A Wish to be a Christmas Tree." This story had a great message about friendship. We had a very fun filled weekend!
